Distance and E-Learning
Distance learning at the Bulgarian School 'Kiril and Metodiy' in Nicosia
Distance learning — synchronous
A student enrolled in synchronous distance learning does not attend classes in a school building but meets with a teacher directly from home on a set day and time in a virtual classroom. An internet connection, headphones and a microphone are required. Distance learning at our school is not self-study — the student does not learn alone at home but meets and communicates with a teacher in real time from the comfort of their home. This allows the student to ask questions if something is unclear at the moment a new lesson is being taught, and the teacher can check prior knowledge.
Distance learning — asynchronous
In asynchronous learning the student has access only to our e-learning platform with educational resources. The student prepares independently for an exam at the end of the school year. Upon passing the exam, a certificate is issued.
The Centre offers e-learning and distance education for:
- children who have missed years of education and need accelerated Bulgarian language learning
- learning Bulgarian as a second/foreign language
- preparation in Bulgarian for studying in Bulgaria
- preparation for the maturity exam in Bulgarian language and literature and geography
- preparation for the ECL exam and certification of Bulgarian language proficiency; levels: A1 to C2
